Terrafugia shows new TF-X flying-car design

Don't you think it's about time that we have flying cars?

Don't you think it's about time that we have flying cars?

Good thing there are companies like Terrafugia which is actually working on a concept car called TF-X that can fly anywhere.

With two helicopter-like blades, the TF-X is the company's second model of flying car, Transition, in 2012. Transition had airplane wings which can be folded out and was actually successfully operated during a test flight.

"The model will be tested at the MIT Wright Brothers wind tunnel, the same tunnel that was used to test models of Terrafugia's Transition. The wind tunnel test model will be used to measure drag, lift and thrust forces while simulating hovering flight, transitioning to forward flight and full forward flight," Terrafugia said on their website.

TF-X will have a four-person capacity, can fit into a standard garage and will be easy to fly. It will also be more practical, requiring just a simple helipad (at least 100 feet in diameter) instead of a long runway.

The good thing about it? Apart from it being manually controlled, it is computer-controlled as well so you can switch it up to fly in auto-pilot and has the ability to stay away from restricted areas, bad weather and more.

As for the price, it has not been announced yet but the company says it will be similar to the luxury cars of today. According to the website, the T-FX will be developed for eight to twelve years.

Watch and be amazed on how cool it is:
