Legend of India is the brainchild of Mr. Rakesh Alwani inspired by his Indian heritage. Despite growing up in the Philippines, Mr. Alwani has always preferred authentic Indian cuisine. Though, to his dismay in his 24 years of being in the Philippines, he has never found a restaurant that offers authentic Indian cuisine. Most are Asian fusion and some Indian restaurants claiming to be “authentic” turns out to be localized Indian food – recipes tailor-fitted to the Pinoy taste.
August of 2009 – along with a team composed of the shareholders, Mr. Alwani started the conceptualization of the restaurant. Envisioning one that has food no other restaurant has - from the taste to its preparation - and a feel that is simple, yet captivating. His ultimate requirement: “It must be legendary!” Thus, the name “Legend of India” was born.
23rd of January 2010 – Legend of India officially opened its doors to welcome patrons looking for the real authentic Indian cuisine.
