Maru, a sixteen-year-old incoming freshman from the province leaving his hometown to study in one of the well-known universities in Manila. After a night of being away from his family, he goes home and begs his mother to let him study nearby instead. As his mother rejects his request, his relationship with his mother begins to fall apart.
