"Ano nga ba ang halaga ng isang bayani?"
Jerrold Tarog again made a masterpiece. It is not the hype but I think we should all not missed the more than 2-hour run of this movie as the best part of it was Tarog showcasing the 23-year old General's transformation from a hero whom status is that much like of a celebrity to a soldier who realizes the very core of his duty - to sacrifice himself and die for his country with pride and dignity. Yes, sounds exaggerated but it was successful in reviving my vigorous love for my country.
By the looks of it, the who... Read more

"There is no war to win. Just a journey to go through."
I have seen a lot of Cathy Garcia-Molina films. I already know her style as a film maker but she always managed to keep the promise of surprise of any of her high-quality films. 'The Hows Of Us' is never an exception. Again, she gave her audience a roller-coaster of emotions.
I was never a fan of Kathniel, though I like DJ a lot. Like Primo and George, Daniel and Kathryn became better versions of themselves through the years. They become better people, better actors and it is very evident in this f... Read more

"Paano ba nasusukat ang kalungkutan?"
Bb. Joyce Bernal's adaptation of Miss Granny is successful in letting the audience be reminded of our Filipino core values and how a mother's love will try to fight and surpass anything for her child. 'Ganun ang mga Mama.'
Sarah Geronimo gave her all in this film. You can definitely see it. Her personality and dedication to get the job done outshined everyone. Once again, she did go out of her nutshell to deliver excellence for her believers and non-believers.
My favorite part of Sarah's performance, aside fro... Read more

"Mapagod kang umasa sige, pero wag kang mapagod mangarap." - Lolo Cesar
The most powerful statement in Jason Paul Laxamana's Bakwit Boys, a film not only for dreamers but for people who already forget how to dream.
We, Filipinos, always loved to sing. But the idea of musical movies is not our cup of tea, unless it is an internationally-produced musical. A lot of producers here in our country bank on love stories, may it be a teeny-bopper, romanticized queridas, couple challenges, etc., because we are overdead romantic as well. However, Bakwit Boys challenge the... Read more

"I love you for so many reasons, including the reasons that are still unknown to me."
I was kinda hesitant to watch this at first because I am getting tired of love stories. But due to unforeseen circumstances I was pushed to watch this film... and I'm more than glad that I did! This is now one of my favorite Pinoy movie.
Jun Robles Lana's Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi is instagrammable. Anything and everything connected with camera works is instagram-worthy. It feels like a bunch of vloggers made this film. Shot after shot after shot. The whole setting is o... Read more

BUY BUST: A Larger Truth (A Movie Review)
BuyBust will be a classic. It is highly original, inspiring and influential. Remarkably strong with a clear message for all of us, Filipinos.
Erik Matti's bloody movie is more than just a work of art. The hype serves as a solid evidence that all of us was inspired by how well it was executed - from the storyline, fight scenes, camera works, cinematography, musical score, acting - the whole production is worth the wait. 2 years right? Some even said it was the best Filipino movie that can go head-to-head with likes of Holywood ... Read more

It was a sunny afternoon when I decided to watched Kasal by Ruel S. Bayani. And after watching, I puffed 4 sticks of cigarrettes before I started writing my thoughts about the film. Not sure if disturbed is the right term. But yeah disturbed in a good way.
Bea Alonzo is Bea Alonzo. She will not be a movie queen for nothing. We all know that she will always deliver whatever role she has in her hand. Bea will not do something aside from impeccable. We all know that she is always an A-lister.
Paulo Avelino's filmography will always amaze m... Read more

DOTGA: Somehow satisfying.
Da One That Ghost Away (DOTGA) was definitely made to entertain. The focus is not to get you overthink the movie or for you to feel or realize something but more so to just let Kim, Ryan and the whole gang relax your mind for their craziness.
I have seen Kim Chiu do comedy. I hate to say this because I love her - this is not her best. Not sure if this is how Tony Y. Reyes' envisioned her character Carmel. Or the script is just off for Kim. Or maybe Kim stoop down a little bit so she will not eat Ryan Bang alive. Well... whatever! Kim f... Read more

Never Not Love You: Simple yet tasteful.
Now I understand the hype.
It was just this night that I have watched the movie. I never had the chance to watch it on its first day just because... just because. We decided to go for the last full show. I really have high hopes since I am seeing everyone tweeting about how beautiful the movie is and how wonderful Jadine in this film. Surprisingly, is still an ongoing 'thing' on social media.
Never Not Love You did not disappoint.
