Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Mark Millar’s Jupiter’s Legacy has been canceled after one season, but its animated spinoff is still underway.
Called Super Crooks, the upcoming anime will follow a ragtag team of supervillains to pull off one last heist. Their target? The most successful and dangerous supervillain. Netflix Japan Anime revealed on Twitter a first look at the Super Crooks crew. Check it out below:
Variety also revealed that Horimoto Nobu will be directing from a script by Dai Sato. Studio Bones of anime series like My Hero Academia and Mob Psycho 100 will be providing the animation.
Super Crooks follows Johnny Bolt, a criminal who has the power of electricity. After being released in prison, his aging mentor The Heat pulls him right into another heist in order to pay off a mob debt. They then put together a team of ‘super crooks’ to steal millions of dollars from a famous supervillain.
The series is based on the graphic novel of the same name from Mark Millar and illustrator Leinil Francis Yu, the Filipino comic book artist who also created the Filipina superhero, Wave, for Marvel.
There’s no premiere date yet for Super Crooks. Meanwhile, you can watch Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix.
