8 New Shows and Films To Watch Out For On Netflix This May

From TV series to variety shows, documentaries to films, here are some exciting content launching on Netflix for the month of May!

We all know that the Philippines has just turned into a massive oven since it's summer, which makes it extremely hard for us to go out in fear of getting toasted. And during days like this, it might be better to just stay at home, turn their fans and airconditioning to the maximum, and binge watch as much content as you could, right? Thankfully, Netflix gives you an endless list of content to watch, and they still launch new ones pretty often! 

From TV series to variety shows, documentaries to films, here are some of the exciting content launching on Netflix for the month of May: 

1. Busted! I Know Who You Are
Launching on: 
May 4, new episodes every Friday
Number of Seasons: 1

Busted! is a 10-episode variety show which will feature a group of 7 members team up and act like detectives solving a different mystery presented by known Korean actors and comedians. It features a star-studded cast which include Running Man's Lee Kwang Soo and Yoo Jae Suk, EXO's Sehun, Park Min Young, and more. 

2. Dear White People
Launching On: May 4
Number of Seasons: 2

Class is back in session! Dear White People is a satirical show which will continue to follow a group of students of color from Winchester University who encounters social injustice, cultural bias, and (lack of) political correctness even in the millennial age. It stars Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, and more. 

3. The Rain
Launching On: May 4
Number of Seasons: 1

The first Danish Netflix original series, The Rain is set in Scandinavia, 6 years after a virus wipes out almost everyone. It follows two siblings who go on a journey along abandoned Scandinavia, looking for any sign of life and struggling to survive. It stars Alba August, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, and more. 

4. Bill Nye Saves the World 
Launching On: May 11
Number of Seasons: 3

Now on its third season, Bill Nye – science guy and entertainer – tackles a specific topic with a lively panel discussion and from a scientific point of view. He also debunks myths and anti-scientific claims, reminding his viewers that "It's not magic – it's science!". 

5. 13 Reasons Why
Launches on: May 18
Number of Seasons: 2

Following the aftermath of Hannah's death, the second season of 13 Reasons Why will be focusing on how characters try to heal and recover, and while everyone prepares to go on trial, another will do everything to hide the truth. Dylan Minnette, Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Brandon Flynn, and more will be returning to reprise their roles. 

6. Cargo
Launching On: May 18

Starring Martin Freeman, Cargo is based on a viral short film set during a zombie apocalypse in Australia. After being infected, a man must find protection for her daughter before the countdown ends and he changes forever. The film is directed by Yolanda Ramke and Ben Howling.

7. End Game
Launches on: May 4

From the Academy Award Winning filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman comes End Game, which explores the perspectives of the people in two of San Francisco Bay Area's medical facilities when it comes to end of life decisions. 

8. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Launches on: May 30
Number of Seasons: 4

The show stars Ellie Kemper as the optimistic and childlike Kimmy Schmidt, who tries to start a life in New York City after escaping a doomsday cult which kidnapped her for 15 years. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.
