In the movie, a dysfunctional family finds themselves in their biggest adventure: saving the world from a robot apocalypse.
It all starts when the eldest child of the Mitchells, Katie, is accepted into the film school of her dreams. Instead of flying out, her nature-loving dad insists on a family road trip to drive her there. The entire family is all complete: upbeat mom Linda, little brother Aaron, and squishy pug Monchi in tow. Suddenly, a robot uprising happens in the middle of their journey. From smartphones to roombas, all electronic devices turn into treacherous tech on a mission to capture every human on earth. It’s now up to the Mitchells to save the human race.
