During the Netflix Anime Festival event last year, Netflix announced their rich roster of upcoming anime content, with some of the titles now streaming on the platform, such as Pacific Rim: The Black and High Rise Invasion. Meanwhile, titles like The Way of The Househusband, Yasuke, and EDEN are yet to arrive in the following months.
But it seems like Netflix isn’t stopping anytime soon in cultivating their pool of anime content. During the AnimeJapan 2021 event, Netflix also unveiled the teaser for yet another exciting anime series, Record of Ragnarok. Watch it below:
Record of Ragnarok is based on the manga series of the same name by Azychika, Shinya Umemura, and Takumi Fukui. Every 1000 years, the gods hold a conference to decide if humans still deserve to exist. During their latest gathering, the divine beings have decided to bring an end to humanity, but a Valkyrie intervenes, arguing that humans should have a say to this decision. In order to come to a conclusion, 13 of the world’s most notable humans must face 13 gods from across the globe in one-on-one battles that will decide the fate of humanity.
The series is directed by Masao Okubo and produced by the animation studio GRAPHINICA. Its voice cast includes Miyuki Sawashiro, Tomoyo Kurosawa, Tomokazu Seki, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Wataru Takagi. It is set for release in June 2021. For more details, visit the series’ official page on Netflix.
