After starring together in the recent Netflix series Sweet Home, Lee Do Hyun and Go Min Si will be reuniting once again for the drama Youth of May. The drama recently had its script reading and is reportedly airing in May.
Lee Sang Yi, Geum Sae Rok, Uhm Hyo Seop, Kim Won Hae, Hwang Young Hee, and Shim Yi Young also join the two leads during the script reading.
According to Soompi, Youth of May is about Hwang Hee Tae and Kim Myung Two, who “have a fateful meeting” during the events in May 1980. This was when the historical Gwangju Uprising happened.
Lee Do Hyun (18 Again, Sweet Home) plays Hwang Hee Tae, a sly but driven medical student. Go Min Si (Love Alarm, Sweet Home), plays Kim Myung Hee, a nurse who has already gone through so many hardships despite being only 3 years into her career.
The new KBS drama comes from Director Song Min Yeob (Doctor Prisoner, School 2017), and a screenplay from Lee Kang (SPY).
Youth of May will be premiering on KBS this May 2021.
