The hit video game franchise, DOTA or Defense of The Ancients, is getting an anime adaptation from Netflix titled DOTA: Dragon’s Blood!
The streaming platform just released the teaser for the upcoming series, which features Davion the Dragon Knight fighting an enraged dragon. Watch it below:
The show will be based on Valve’s DOTA 2, and will center around Davion. Check out its official synopsis from Netflix:
The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.
Ashley Edward Miller helms the show while the animation will be produced by Studio MIR. It is the same studio that worked on Avatar: The Legend of Korra and Netflix’s Voltron: Legendary Defender.
“Fans will love how we’ve imagined the DOTA 2 universe and woven together an epic, emotional, and adult-oriented story about some of their favorite characters,” said Miller. “The cinematic animation, acting and music are simply next level and I’m grateful to Valve for supporting our creative ambitions.”
DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will launch globally on Netflix this March 25.
