CW gets its hands on the sweet, spice, and everything nice concoction in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Powerpuff Girls.
According to Deadline, the American TV network has just ordered the pilot for the reboot of the Cartoon Network classic. And it looks like CW will be giving it the Riverdale treatment by turning these bright pop culture icons from our childhood into struggling adults with real-life dilemmas.
In this show, the eponymous superheroes are now “disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crimefighting.” But when the world is in great need of heroes, the three superpowered siblings must reunite.
The series is written and executive produced by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier. More details are yet to be revealed about the show.
Like CW’s Riverdale, Netflix also recently released a mature drama series based on another cartoon show– Winx Club. Netflix’s Fate: The Winx Saga follows the five witches ā Bloom, Stella, Musa, Terra, and Aisha ā during their studies at the fairy school Alfea.
