Netflix has officially announced that it will be producing a live-action series based on the hit manga Yu Yu Hakusho, more popularly known here as Ghost Fighter.
The ’90s kids who loved the anime were delighted when it dropped on the streaming platform last June. Now we’re getting a spin on the show with this new TV adaptation. No further information had been released, except that it will be streamed worldwide, exclusively on Netflix.
Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, Yu Yu Hakusho ran for four years in the ’90s. It was also adapted into an anime series that aired from 1992 to 1995.
Its story revolves around Yusuke Urameshi, a high school delinquent who dies protecting a young child. When a spirit guide reveals that there is no place for Yusuke in either heaven or hell, he gets the chance to be revived by becoming an Underworld Detective.
Earlier this year, Netflix also announced that it will be producing a live-action adaptation of One Piece.
