Best of 2018: 10 Shows That Kept Us Up All Night

Now that the year is coming to a close, we look back at some of the new and returning shows that we binge-watched and kept us all night!

2018 is the year that we streamed and binge-watched a lot, what with all the shows – both classic and new – that are now made available online! From Western shows to telenovelas and K-dramas, you really just can't say you've run out of things to watch because of all the options you now have. 

Now that the year is coming to a close, we look back at some of the new and returning shows that kept us up all night, binge-watching! Here are 10 shows and dramas we loved in 2018: 

1. Haunting of Hill House

Those who are into horror movies would definitely like Haunting of Hill House. This 10-episode series is a modern reimagination of Shirley Jackson's novel. It centers on a family who returns to the haunted house they grew up in to face the ghosts of their pasts. It stars Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Timothy Hutton, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and more.

2. Bodyguard
Number of Episodes: 6

Bodyguard stars Game of Thrones' Richard Madden as David Budd, a heroic war veteran who now works as a Specialist Protection Office at the Metropolitan Police Service. Assigned to protect the Home Secretary Julia Montague (Keely Hawes), he finds himself between his duty and his beliefs as she stands for everything he despises.

3. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comes from the same creators of Riverdale, and follows 17-year old Sabrina Spellman. Still trying to come to terms with the fact that she's a half-witch, half-mortal, she must also learn to fight the evil forces that threaten her, her friends, and her family. The cast includes Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Lucy Davis, Chance Perdomo, Michelle Gomez, and more.

4. BoJack Horseman (Season 5)

Now on its 5th season, BoJack Horseman will see the titular character as the lead cast of the show 'Philbert'. and while he should be concentrating on his latest stint, his own personal demons come to haunt him. Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Aaron Paul, and Amy Sedaris are just some of the voice actors returning this season.

5. Something in the Rain

For someone who loves a good, romantic story, Something in the Rain tells the story of Yoon Jin Ah and her best friend's younger brother Seo Joon Hee. While they worked at the same office building, their daily encounters turn their friendship into something that's sweet. The drama stars Jung Hae In and Son Ye Jin.

6. The Good Place (Season 3)

The Good Place stars Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop, who wakes up in the afterlife and is welcomed at "The Good Place", a Heaven-like utopia designed by an immortal architect named Michael (Ted Danson) to accommodate the people's specific tastes in the afterlife.

7. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim
Number of Episodes: 16

Whether you're just starting out in K-dramas this year or have already been a fan for a long time, What's Wrong With Secretary Kim is sure to deliver when it comes to laughs and kilig. It centers on a narcissistic company Vice President named Lee Young Joon who must try to prevent his secretary Kim Mi So from resigning when she first decides to quit her job. Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young star in this romantic comedy

8. Dynasty (Season 2)

Dynasty is the soap opera reboot of the 1980s series of the same name. It follows the Carringtons and the Colbys – two of the richest families in America – and their feud to take control not only on their fortune, but also on their children. 9. Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Season 5)

Set in the 99th Precinct of the NYPD in Brooklyn, the show centers on Jake Peralta and a team of NYPD detectives headed by the newly-appointed Captain Raymond Holt. The show stars Andy Samberg , Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, and more.

10. Meteor Garden

The Chinese remake of the 2001 Taiwanese series, Meteor Garden centers on a poor girl named Shancai, who goes to a university for the rich people. There she encounters F4, a group of four arrogant boys who bully and terrorize students they don't like. The remake stars Shen Yue, Dylan Wang, Darren Chen Liang Jing Kang, and Wu Xi Ze.
