'Nightcrawler' director Dan Gilroy reunites with Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo for Netflix's upcoming horror-thriller film 'Velvet Buzzsaw,' set to have its world premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival on January 27. The movie premieres globally on Netflix on February 1.
The mind-bending film is set in LA's contemporary art world, and follows the story of a snobby art critic and a gallery owner when they chance upon a money-making opportunity with a stash of compellingly eerie paintings left in the recently deceased artist's apartment. The recently released trailer of Velvet Buzzsaw reveals that they've stumbled upon killer art — literally — as the paintings turn out to be seemingly cursed, haunting whoever encounters them.
