5 Reasons Why You Should Be Excited About Lucifer Season 5

5 Reasons Why You Should Be Excited About Lucifer Season 5

The fifth season of Lucifer arrives on Netflix this August 21!

Lucifer will return for its fifth season on Netflix!

In case you needed a recap, season 4 ended with a heartbreaking cliffhanger where Lucifer had to return to Hell just as Chloe confessed her love for him. This made a lot of us curious on how the story will progress from there. Well, the curiosity will soon be doused when season 5 arrives, but before that, we’ve listed down more reasons why this season is a must-watch!

Warning: May contain spoilers.

Lucifer and Chloe’s reunion

The biggest question we have after the season 4 finale is what will happen in Lucifer and Chloe’s relationship after they got separated? Well, as showrunner Ildy Modrovich put it in our email interview: “Well, we know Lucifer can’t stay in Hell forever. Where would the fun be in that, right? But the question is… when will he return?”

So we know that Lucifer will be back, and at some point he and Chloe will be together again. But as the trailer of season 5 revealed, things will be pretty complicated because even before Lucifer can go back on Earth, an impostor arrives first.

Tom Ellis battles with himself

The twist for this season comes in the form of an impostor who wants to steal Lucifer’s life. This is his twin brother Michael, who uses the devil’s absence on Earth to deceive Chloe. Will Chloe find out about this fake Lucifer by herself? How much damage will Michael cause on Earth? What are his motives? And what happens when the devil and his impostor finally confront each other? These are just some of the questions that will be answered when you watch this upcoming season.

A Noir episode

A special episode awaits fans in this season’s episode 4 titled It Never Ends Well for the Chicken. The said episode is a noir episode where Lucifer tells a detective story set in 1946. And the fun part is, the familiar faces of Chloe, Maze, and Ella are also there in classic 1900s attire. Check out some of the photos below:

Hear Lucifer speak Filipino

Not to make a fuss about foreign stars speaking our local language, but hearing Lucifer speak Filipino is quite entertaining. In episode 7, a crime investigation leads Lucifer to a flower shop run by a young man and his grandmother who doesn’t speak English. Fortunately, the devil speaks every language.

Nagsasalita ba sya ng Tagalog?” Lucifer asks the young man with his usual accent, and then the devil goes on to greet his grandmother with “Kumusta ka Madam?” Obviously, he did not ace it in the accent department but come on, we all love Lucifer’s accent and sassy tone.

The end is near

In our interview with Lucifer’s showrunners, Joe Henderson confirmed that season 6 is officially the final season. No more surprise renewals. With Lucifer nearing its end, we can only expect that the story will be reaching its climax soon and season 5 will probably build it up. We did try to get hints from the showrunners regarding the final season, to which Ildy only vaguely answered: “I can say that we feel it is the final step in Lucifer’s journey as a character.”

Lucifer Season 5 will be available on Netflix starting this August 21. Visit the show’s Netflix page for more information.
