Netflix’ ‘Street Food’ Will Be Celebrating the Food of Cebu City!

Launching on April 26, Street Food is a 9-episode series from the same creators of Chef's Table which explores the street food culture of some of the world's most colorful cities.

If you're one who just really loves food, and enjoy watching people explore, cook, and eat dishes that go from classic to extraordinary, there are a lot of options you can binge-watch any time of the day. But if you've already watched everything, then this new show is something to add to your List!

Launching on April 26, Street Food is a 9-episode series from the same creators of Chef's Table which explores the street food culture of some of the world's most colorful cities. The first season is taking the viewers to 9 countries in Asia, and will be highlighting the stories of people that bring the cuisinne and the culture of the country to life.

One of the cities which will be featured in the show's first season is our very own Cebu City. A trading hub for centuries, the city is blessed with everything from seafood to fresh produce, making the street food in the area unique.

The episode will be featuring the stories of 4 Filipinos: Florencio "Entoy" Escabas whose Nilarang Bakasi (soured stew with reef eel) was the reason to earn a living for his family, and for the fishermen in his community; Leslie Enjambre's Lechon Cebu with a recipe passed down through generations; Ian Secong whose version of Tuslob Buwa brought the dish into the mainstream culture; and Rubilyn Diko Manayo who is famous for her roadside carinderia serving 18 different dishes.
