90s kids, we’re going back to our childhood in the upcoming Netflix dramedy The Baby-Sitters Club! Before our favorite club goes back to business this July 3, Netflix has released the official trailer to the 10-episode show.
Watch it here:
The Baby-Sitters Club is a 10-episode series based on the best-selling book series about the friendship and adventures of 5 middle schoolers who start their own babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. The new adaptation will, just like the books, continue to highlight the importance of friendship, female empowerment, and entrepreneurship.
Check out the 5 girls we’ll be seeing more of in the coming month:
Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace)
She is the president of the Baby-Sitters Club, starting the club because she thinks it’s a much-needed business in the community.
Mary Ann Spier (Malia Baker)
She is Kristy’s best friend, and is also the secretary of the BSC. Her caring, yet overprotective dad cares for her after losing her mom to cancer when she was a baby.
Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada)
Claudia is the vice president of the club and is also known to be the coolest and trendiest in the group. She also loves art, and has the most fashionable closet.
Stacey Mcgill (Shay Rudolph)
She is a transfer from New York City, and is described as fashionable, smart, organized, and tech-savvy. She is also Claudia’s best friend, and later becomes the club’s treasurer.
Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez-Deines)
The club’s alternate officer, she is a young activist with a free spirit who moves from California to Stoneybrook after her parents’ divorce.
Joining them in the show are Alicia Silverstone, who plays Kristy’s mom Elizabeth, and Mark Feuerstein as Watson Brewer, father of two and also Elizabeth’s boyfriend. Lucia Aniello directs the show, with Rachel Shukert as the showrunner.
