The story follows New Yorker Rachel Chu as she accompanies her boyfriend, Nick Young, to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick’s family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life.

Following his father’s death, a young ramen chef chances upon his late Singaporean mother’s suitcase of memorabilia. Hoping to piece together the story of his life, as well as that of his parents, he leaves his hometown in Japan to embark on a journey to Singapore.

This story of love and forgiveness features cast from both Japan and Singapore, with Takumi Saitoh (“Blank 13”, “Shin Godzilla”) leading alongside Seiko Matsuda (“Armageddon”, “Bones”), Mark Lee (“Long Long Time Ago”, “Homerun”) and Jeanette Aw (“Find My Dad”, “The Little Nyonya”).
