WATCH: First Magical Trailer For Netflix’s Santa Origin Flick ‘Klaus’

Can the unlikely friendship between a postman and a toymaker spark joy in the unhappiest place on Earth?

Finally, an origin story for the beloved Christmas icon is coming to town!

The streaming giant Netflix just released its first official trailer for the animated film Klaus, which will take us into a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the legend of Santa Claus first came about!

Check out the trailer below:

Klaus follows the story of Jesper, the "postal academy's worst student" who finds himself stationed in the faraway town of Smeerensburg located in the Arctic. When feuding locals wouldn't accept Jesper's service of delivering letters, he seeks the help of Klaus, a mysterious toymaker who lives in a cabin full of handmade toys. Forging an unlikely friendship, the two would spark a change to the townsfolk while launching a legend that would transcend time.

Directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos, Klaus stars the voices of Jason Schwartzman as Jesper and Oscar Award-winner J.K. Simmons as Klaus. Alongside Simmons and Schwartzman are Rashida Jones, Joan Cusack, Will Sasso, and Norm Macdonald.
