Queer Eye Season 5 review

Queer Eye Season 5 is a Source of Sunshine This Pride Month

The show reminds us that we are all worthy of love, especially from ourselves.

The Story:

Queer Eye is a reality show featuring the Fab Five– fashion expert Tan France, grooming expert Jonathan Van Ness, food and wine expert Antoni Porowski, culture expert Karamo Brown, and design expert Bobby Berk. Their mission? To give different kinds of people the complete life makeover they deserve. On its latest season, the gang goes to Philadelphia to help out a gay pastor, a teenage activist, a dedicated pet groomer, and so much more!

Watch this if you:

Feel like you need to work on your confidence and/or self-love, or you have a loved one who fits that criteria. Anyone can pick up very important life lessons from this show, but I think those who need to know their true self-worth would appreciate the show the most.

What I think:

This is my first time watching Queer Eye and I have yet to see its past seasons. I may not be the biggest fan of reality shows, but watching this show was a nice experience for me and worth every minute of my screen time.

In simplest terms, it is a makeover show, but they do not stop on just the person’s physical appearance and their home. The Fab Five also delves deeper into the person’s life, intervening on the things that are holding them back from being their best selves. And for me, that is the best part of the series, when the participants are at their most vulnerable, thus they become more relatable to the audiences. With such sincerity at play, these are also the most tear-jerking parts of this reality show.

Of course, this show wouldn’t be as colorful if not for the Fab Five. You really know that they are experts in their respective fields but they level with the participants to really uplift them. And they do all this with such great energy that the show’s entertainment factor never runs short.

To sum it all up, Queer Eye season 5 is a must-watch especially now that we celebrate Pride, as it captures the message of the month: that each and everyone of us are worthy of love, and we all have the right to love and be loved.
