A girl becomes a cat to get close to the boy she loves!

What if the only time that your crush pays attention to you is whenever you turn yourself into a cat?

This is the premise of A Whisker Away, a new anime film coming to Netflix on June 18. It is from directors Junichi Satoh of Sailor Moon and Tomotaka Shibayama, with a screenplay from the writer of Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Mari Okada.

Check out the film’s trailer below:

It follows Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed Muge meaning “infinitely mysteriously”, who has a bubbly vibe both at school and at home. She has this secret crush for her classmate Kento Hinode, who doesn’t seem to notice her. But whenever she turns herself into a cat, she gets closer and closer to her crush. As this went on however, the boundary between her being cat and human becomes blurry, until she is forced to give up her life as a human.
