Staying at home time means having more time to binge-watch, whether it's because of the extended quarantine situation, or you're simply streaming addict. While the ClickTheCity team gets busy with working from home to bring you #AroundTheCityOnline, we definitely dedicate some sweet screen-time to our favorite shows and films!

1. Community | Watch it on Netflix

All seasons of Community were recently made available on Netflix, and it has been my constant companion during my solo quarantine. It's one of those awesome shows that, for me, if someone finds pure joy and genius in them, then that someone will be a potential friend of mine. The series is not just about a ragtag of adults enrolled in Greendale Community College who get together as a 'study group' (you'll eventually find out there's very little studying compared to tons of crazy campus activities which often involves costumes and paintball wars). The cult 6-seasoner sitcom is oozing with pop culture parodies and pokes fun on many film genres that you know every one working on every episode, from the writers to its actors, are all having so much fun, you wish you were part of it. Speaking of actors, this show features a fantastic ensemble, which includes Joel McHale (The Soup), Alison Brie (GLOW), Gillian Jacobs (Love), and Ken Jeong (The Hangover). And oh, its first three seasons? They're directed by the Russo brothers, the men behind your favorite Captain America and Avengers films. Every episode is just so much fun to geek out on, and if you want to watch something overall silly and outrageous, featuring one of the most solid TV friendships ever (Troy and Abed, played by Donald Glover and Danny Pudi), then this show is for you.

2. Elite Season 3 | Watch it on Netflix

With its third season available now, this Spanish drama is incredibly addictive that you won’t be able to take your eyes off of it. It’s not the teleserye we were used to watching growing up. Elite is Gossip Girl meets True Detective— every episode is just full of drama! Quick overview: The show centers on three working-class friends who receive scholarships to a luxe private school and involve themselves to the members of the elite. Season after season, this show just leaves you with even more questions and mystery to be solved which is extremely exciting if you ask me! And if the storyline isn’t enough to get you hooked, the characters are just unbelievably attractive. Just start watching and you’ll be asking yourself why it took you so long to watch this show!

3. Happy Old Year | Watch it on Netflix

'Happy Old Year' is a Thai film probably inspired by the concept of the KonMari Method, and is centered on the main character Jean who wants to renovate their family home and make it look as minimalist as it can be. I liked the film because if I feel like it's something that we can all relate to when we go through our things and we end up reliving the memories associated with them. The story is slow, but I feel like it still works as we see Jean develop from someone who's putting everything in a trashbag to someone who realizes just how attached she is to these items and to the people who are associated with them. While the film runs just a little under 2 hours, I really didn't feel that it went on for too long because it was beautifully shot, with every scene looking like it's straight out of a photograph. Watch Happy Old Year if you want to be inspired to declutter, because that's definitely what I wanted to do after seeing it!

4. The Promised Neverland | Watch it on Netflix

Being a fan of thrillers, The Promised Neverland first got my attention a few months back after browsing a few chapters of its manga. Now, the anime's first season is on Netflix and I wouldn't dare miss it. The show has an interesting premise, with three smart young orphans playing mind games against their once trusted caretaker who turned out to be a servant of children-eating monsters. As with my other favorite TV shows, it is always satisfying when the protagonists must choose between a logical action and a moral one, and even if it seems like they can't have both, they would still find a way to compromise between the two choices. For me, this is what makes The Promised Neverland a must-watch.
