Sensates, we’re finally getting the closure we deserve from Sense8!
Back in May, we received the announcement the Netflix Original series Sense8 will not be getting a third season, and like every other fan, we mourned and petitioned for Netflix to bring it back or at least give us the closure and the answers they deserved.
Today, the show’s director Lara Wachowski, through Sense8’s official Facebook page released a post saying that they will be working on a 2-hour special episode set to be released next year. See the post below:
Tell your clusters, sensates, as the special is set to explain what will happen to Wolfgang after the events of the second season!
Wachowski explained that it had taken her quite some time to release a statement as she fell into a “fairly serious depression” and was unable to open her emails during the past few weeks. While she says that there’s nothing she can do by herself to bring the series back on air, she thanked the fans and said that their love and support was what brought Sense8 back to life – at least for one more episode.
As to what will happen after the finale, whether there’s any possibility of a new season, the director said, “You NEVER know.”
Sense8 tells the story of 8 individuals from different parts of the world called sensates who are all interconnected with each other. It explores the themes of family and friendship, as well as issues which are related to diversity, culture, gender, and religion. It stars Jamie Clayton, Aml Ameen, Doona Bae, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, and Brian J. Smith.
