Netflix is bringing the Straw Hat Pirates to life in their upcoming live-action adaptation of One Piece! After dropping the lineup of stars who will play the famous anime crew last month, we now get to see them speak to fans in a new video for Jump Festa. Check it out below:
The cast of the upcoming series includes IƱaki Godoy (Who Killed Sara) as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu (Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter) as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd (Fear Street) as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson (All Rise) as Usopp, and Taz Skylar (Boiling Point) as Sanji.
Based on the famous manga and anime series of the same name from creator Eiichiro Oda,Ā One PieceĀ follows a young man named Luffy whose body became elastic after eating the Gum-Gum Fruit. Together with his crew, Luffy aims to become the next King of the Pirates and find the One Piece– the hidden treasure of the former Pirate King Gol D. Roger.
Serving as showrunner for the live-actionĀ One PieceĀ series is Steven Maeda. He will also co-write and executive produce with Matt Owens. Eiichiro Oda also serves as an executive producer for the show.
