Netflix K-Drama ‘D.P.’ is Renewed For Season 2

After the success it received when it first premiered back in August, Netflix has confirmed that D.P., which stars Jung Hae In and Koo Kyo Hwan, is coming back for season 2! This is also after the K-drama was selected for The New York Times Best International Shows of 2021, released on December 3.

Check out the season 2 announcement video here:

The 6-episode K-drama centers on Deserter Pursuit Unit members An Joon Ho and Han Ho Yeul who encounters different stories as they track down fellow soldiers who have deserted their posts. The first season left viewers on a cliffhanger, with Joon Hoo walking in the other soldiers’ opposite direction, before breaking out into a run as the credits start to roll.

The series comes from director Han Jun Hee (Coin Locker Girl and Hit-and-Run Squad) and is based on the webtoon D.P. Dog’s Day by Kim Bo Tong, who also penned the script for the Netflix adaptation. The two will also be working with each other again for the K-drama’s 2nd season. It stars Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, Son Suk Ku, Hong Kyun, Jo Hyun Chul, and more.

D.P. has received a lot of positive comments from the audience, especially since it does not shy from talking about the unjust realities not only in Korean society but also in the international contexts.
