John Cena is in full ‘uniform’ in the first clip released for the upcoming HBO Max series, Peacemaker. The spinoff series centers on The Suicide Squad member who will stop at nothing to achieve what he perceives as peace, even if it required violent means.

James Gunn’s reboot flick The Suicide Squad introduced new characters to Amanda Waller’s supervillain crew. Alongside returning characters, Harley Quinn and Rick Flag, are the newest recruits: Bloodsport, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man, Ratcatcher II, and of course, Peacemaker.
The upcoming series will tell the story of Peacemaker after the events of the film, and also give us a glimpse of the antihero’s origins. Written by James Gunn, the show’s episodes will be directed by Jody Hill, Brad Anderson, Rosemary Rodriguez, and Gunn.
Alongside Cena are Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Peacemaker is set for release on HBO Max next year in January.
