Matt Wagner’s popular Dark Horse comic series Grendel is coming to Netflix as an 8-episode live-action series!
Helmed by Supernatural co-executive producer and writer Andrew Dabb, the new show will star Abubakr AliĀ as the eponymous anti-hero of Dark Horse. It will follow the story of Hunter Rose, a successful author and a talented fencer who takes the mantle of the assassin Grendel to avenge the death of a loved one. As he dives into New York’s criminal underworld, Grendel finds himself becoming a part of its dark and gritty corners.

Iām especially excited to see Abubakr Ali bring the character of Grendel/Hunter Rose to life ā he has the charisma, style and vital edginess that Iāve been envisioning in the role for years.”
