WATCH: Children’s Games Become Deadly in New ‘Squid Game’ Trailer

456 Koreans will compete in a series of death games where they can win 45.6 billion won.

After the success of the Japanese series Alice in Borderland last year, Netflix is soon releasing another survival game series titled Squid Game.

From South Korea, this upcoming show features a series of death games that are inspired by games that children play. Check out Squid Game‘s main trailer and ensemble poster below:

Initially titled Round Six, Netflix’s Squid Game gathers 456 Koreans who are in desperate need of money and invites them to play a series of games where they can win 45.6 billion won, but if they lose, they would meet their certain death.

Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game stars Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Oh Young-soo, Wi Ha-Jun, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae, Tripathi Anupam, and Kim Joo-ryoung. It is to be released on Netflix this September 17.
