8 Shows You Can Now Stream on HBO GO for Free

You can watch these shows for free even without an HBO subscription!

Following the lead of other streaming companies, HBO GO has announced that they will be putting a number of their shows up for free as their way of encouraging people from all over the world to do their part in flattening the curve by staying home. 

All users need to do is download the HBO GO app, click on Browse and they will see a tab of content streaming for free. They don’t even need to sign up for an account to enjoy all these shows! The catch? The shows will only be up for free until April 30, so those who’ve been wanting to watch the shows should start doing so asap! 

Here are 8 shows Filipinos can stream right now: 

1. Veep

Veep is a comedy series following the day-to-day existence of the Vice President a she goes through as she juggles between her political and private life. The show stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and is created by Armando Iannucci.

2. The Wire

The Wire is a show set in Baltimore and centers on Detective James McNulty and his team as they try to solve the bridge between the drug kingpins and the law enforcement agencies. The show stars Dominic West, Michael K. Williams, Idris Elba, and more. 

3. Silicon Valley 

The show is about a group of 5 friends who establish a start-up company in Silicon Valley. It also centers on engineer Richard Hendricks who creates an app called Pied Piper and is trying to look for people who will invest in it. 

4. Barry

Bill Hader is Barry in this HBO show about a depressed hitman from the Midwest who travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor, and ends up joining an acting class which makes him question his path in life. 

5. Invisible Stories

Invisible Stories is a drama with 6 episodes, telling the untold stories of a fictional neighborhood in Singapore. The show features a cast from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore, highlighting the multi-cultural identity of the country. 

6. Folklore

Folklore is a 6-episode series created by Singaporean director Eric Khoo, featuring stories that are based on Asian superstitions and national folkloric myths. Each episode is helmed by a director from a different country. 

7. Miss Sherlock

Miss Sherlock is a Japanese drama based on the characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The show, led by women, centers on the consulting detective Sara “Sherlock” Shelly Futaba and Dr. Wato Tachibano as they solve different mysterious in modern-day Tokyo. 

8. The World Between Us

The World Between Us is a Taiwanese drama inspired y the 2016 Little Light Bulb incident in Taiwan. It follows the aftermath of a mass shooting, where the killer, the victims, the victims’ families, and the media are all linked with each other.
