Real alien abductions or the trick of the mind?
This is the question one would probably ask after watching the trailer for Netflix's upcoming film Horse Girl. Starring Alison Brie, the movie drags a young woman into a paranoia as her reality and surreal dreams come crashing down together. Check out the trailer below:
Brie plays the role of Sarah, an arts and crafts store employee who is more content in the company of horses and in watching crime shows than socializing with people. That is, until a series of oddly surreal dreams took over her nightly sleep, and soon overlapped to her daily life, making her doubt what's real and what's not. As the official synopsis put it, Horse Girl is a "darkly humorous psychological thriller about a woman's search for the truth, however abstract it may be."
Alison Brie also co-wrote the film's screenplay with its director, Jeff Baena. It is set to premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival before coming to Netflix this February 7.
