Jim Henson's 'The Dark Crystal' Prequel on Netflix Reveals 'Age of Resistance' Key Art and Trailer

The upcoming fantasy series 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance' on Netflix debuts its teaser trailer and key art! Fans of the classic 80s film 'The Dark Crystal' can soon return to the world of Thra with an all new adventure launching this August.

Based on The Dark Crystal, Jim Henson’s groundbreaking 1982 feature film, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance tells a new epic story, set many years before the events of the movie, and realized using classic puppetry and practical effects combined with cutting edge visual effects.

The upcoming prequel series is set to have ten one-hour episodes, and follows the story of three Gelfling discovering the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, and their epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion to save their world.

Leading the voice cast are Taron Egerton, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Nathalie Emmanuel, as Rian, Brea and Deet, three Gelfling heroes. The Skeksis and Mystics are voiced by a star-studded lineup, which includes Harvey Fierstein, Mark Hamill, Ralph Ineson, Jason Isaacs, Keegan-Michael Key, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Simon Pegg, and Andy Samberg.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance launches on Friday, August 30, 2019 on Netflix.
