This is definitely not your ordinary superhero TV series!
Netflix just released the official trailer for The Umbrella Academy, a superhero TV series based from the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name. It is from the minds of comic book creators Gabriel Bá and Gerard Way (who, by the way, is also the lead vocalist of rock band My Chemical Romance).
Watch the trailer here:
The Umbrella Academy tells a very curious tale. In 1989, forty-three infants were born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. A billionaire adopted seven of the infants and raised them in his so-called The Umbrella Academy as preparation for them to save the world someday, for each was blessed with extraordinary superpowers.
Years later, the six surviving members of the Academy, now an estranged group, reunite upon the news of their father's death. Mysteries looming over their father's passing would force the six to team-up together and find out the truth. But things are not that easy with the mix-up of their eccentric personalities, and neither does it help that an impending apocalypse closes in on the world within eight days.
Created for television by Steve Blackman, The Umbrella Academy stars Ellen Page, Mary J. Blige, Cameron Britton, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Colm Feore, Adam Godley, John Magaro, Ashley Madekwe, and Kate Walsh.
