New month, new set of Netflix releases to watch out for!
From animated shows and anime films to series comebacks and book-to-film adaptations, August really has something for whatever kind of viewer you are! Here are some of the release you definitely should be excited for this month:
1. Insatiable
Launches on: August 10
Starring Debby Ryan, Insatiable follows Patty who has been bullied and underestimated by people because of her weight. Now that she finds herself thin, she is out looking for revenge from anyone who's ever made her feel bad. Ryan is joined by Alyssa Milano, Dallas Roberts, Erinn Westbrook, Christopher Gorham, and more.
2. Disenchantment
Launches on: August 17
From the creator of The Simpsons comes Disenchantment which takes viewers to the kingdom of Dreamland where a princess, an elf, and a demon go on misadventures involving ogres, harpies, imps, trolls, and human fools. The show will feature the voices of Abbi Jacobson, Eric Andre, Nat Faxon, John DiMaggio, and more.
3. The Innocents
Launches on: August 24
An 8-episode series, the show centers on two teenagers – Harry and June – who run away from their familes. There they discover June's shapeshifting ability, and that there are others like her. The Innocents is created by Hania Elkington and Simon Duric and stars Sorcha Groundsell, Percell Ascott, and Guy Pierce.
4. To All The Boys I've Loved Before
Launches on: August 17
To All the Boys I've Loved Before is the film adaptation to Jenny Han's bestselling young-adult novel of the same name. It's about Lara Jean Song Covey who writes love letters to every boy she's loved without any plans of sending them out. Her life goes out of control when said letters were sent out mysteriously. It stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo.
5. Flavors of Youth
Launches on: August 4
Flavors of Youth is an anime film told in three chapters and in three cities, exploring the joys of life through sensual memories and how love can't be defeated by time. told in three chapters and in three cities. The film is also from the same studio behind Kimi No Na Wa and 5 Centimeters per Second.
6. Ozark (Season 2)
Launches on: August 31
Now on its second season, Ozark will pick up where the first season left off, following Marty Bryde's family's life in a drug cartel. Marty and Wendy now has to balance family interest with their partnerships with the Snells, realizing that they need to go all in before they can get out.
7. Ghoul
Launches on: August 24
Ghoul – a show from the same makers of Insidious, Get Out, and Udta Punjab – is about a prisoner who, instead of being interrogated, exposes the interrogators' darkest secrets. It stars Radhika Apte, Manav Kaul, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Mahesh Balraj, and Mallhar Goenka.
8. I Am A Killer
Launches on: āAugust 3
I Am A Killer is a true-crime series where some of history's most notorious killers recall their story and narrate what goes on in their minds during these moments.
