8 Shows To Binge-Watch on Netflix This Summer

With all the shows streaming on Netflix, one doesn't just run out of things to watch. If you don't know where to start, here's a rundown of good ones you could check out today - from anime to K-dramas to Western shows. 

It's summertime once again, and while most of people would love to go to the beach, flaunt their beach bodies or maybe go out of the country to travel, there are also some who'd rather laze around at home, binge watching shows with a bag of chips. 

And with all the shows streaming on Netflix, one doesn't just run out of things to watch. If you don't know where to start, here's a rundown of good ones you could check out today – from anime to K-dramas to Western shows. 

1. The End of the F***ing World

A series based on the the comic books of the same name by Charles Forsman, The End of the F***ing World follows James and Alyssa, two teen outsiders who go on a road trip to find Alyssa's father. The first season only has 8 episodes, with each lasting for about 20 minutes, so you could definitely finish everything in a day. It stars Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden. 

2. Santa Clarita Diet

In Santa Clarita Diet, Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant portray Sheila and Joel, a couple who live discontented lives with their daughter Abby. When Sheila goes through a dramatic change, the family go down in a road of death and destruction. The show currently has two seasons, with 8 and 10 episodes each. 

3. A Korean Odyssey

A modern reimagination of the Chinese novel "Journey to the Past", A Korean Odyssey is about Monkey King Son Oh Gong who must work with Bull Demon King Woo Ma Wang despite their conflicts to find the light in a world that's full of evil. The K-drama stars Lee Seung Gi, Cha Seung Won, Oh Yeon Seo, and Lee Hong Ki.

4. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is an anime show that's adapted from Hiromu Arakawa's manga series, "Fullmetal Alchemist". Unlike the original anime series, Brotherhood is said to have a more accurate adaptation from the original material. It follows two brothers, Alphonse and Edward, who uses alchemy to battle supernatural forces to reclaim their bodies. The series has 5 seasons with 64 episodes. 

5. RuPaul's Drag Race

RuPaul's Drag Race is a reality competition series that's "one part 'America's Next Top Model' and two parts fabulous." RuPaul not only hosts, but also acts as the mentor and head judge as the show continues to search for America's Next Drag Superstar. You may stream the show's 7th to 9th season on Netflix. 

6. A Series of Unfortunate Events

Now with two seasons, A Series of Unfortunate Events centers on the Baudelaire children who are placed under the wing of Count Olaf whose goal is to claim the family fortune for himself. The show stars Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, and Presley Smith. 

7. Dark 

For those who love stories filled with mysteries, Dark should make it to the top of their binge list. It's the first Netflix show entirely created, shot, and produced in Germany, and it's set in 1986, after the disappearance of two young children. This leads to the exposing of the relationships and lives among 4 families, and the supernatural events that had been happening in the town. It stars Louis Hoffman, Oliver Masucci, Jordis Triebel, Maja Schone, and Sebastian Rudolph. 

8. Queer Eye

Queer Eye is another American reality television show which is the reboot to the series "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". It sees the Fab Five form relationships with straight men and give them advise on everything – from fashion and grooming to food and culture. The Fab Five consists of Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, and Tan France.
