GLOW is an upcoming Netflix series that is inspired by the real story of the 1980's female wrestling league. Glitter, guts, and glory collide in the tale of an out-of-work actress struggling to make a career. In her last attempt at stardom, she lands a gig in the form of GLOW--Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling--a weekly series about female wrestlers.
Alison Brie leads the ragtag group of women wrestlers in this new series; you may also know her from another Netflix Original, BoJack Horseman--she voices Diane Nguyen, the human ghostwriter of BoJack. In GLOW, Brie portrays struggling actress Ruth Wilder residing in 1980s Los Angeles. Ruth is thrust into the glittery and spandex-filled world of women's wrestling, alongside 12 Hollywood misfits.
Directing the 'Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling' is Sam Sylvia (played by Marc Maron), a has-been B-movie director who must now reign in the women and lead them on the journey to wrestling superstardom.
