Travel Guide: 6 Things to Know Before Traveling to El Nido, Palawan this 2021

Here are a few things to take note of to kickstart your trip to El Nido!

It’s no secret that Palawan has one of the most beautiful islands in the Philippines — one of which is El Nido. Whether you’re into island hopping, scuba diving, kayaking, or snorkeling, El Nido has it for you.

Traveling hasn’t really been a priority because of the virus but after being cooped up at home for a year now, getting a much-needed breather is a must. We’re all about responsible traveling and we’re sure you are too! Enjoy the paradise that is El Nido by following the strict health protocols and guidelines. If you’ve been wanting to head there but don’t know where to start, here are a few things to take note of to kickstart your getaway.

Who can travel?

All Filipino citizens and Philippine residing foreigners can visit El Nido as tourists. There are also no age restrictions. Read more information about it here.

What are the requirements?

  • A negative RT-PCR test results from 72 hours prior to travel, done by DOH accredited laboratories in the Philippines. The RT-PCR saliva test is also accepted as long as it is done by the Philippine National Red Cross.
  • A confirmed hotel or resort booking at a DOT-accredited accommodation.
  • A confirmed round-trip ticket. Book a direct flight via AirSwift. Tourists can also opt to fly to Puerto Princesa to transit El Nido. Available airlines are Air Asia, Cebu Pacific, and Philippine Airlines.
  • Fill out the form and submit all the documents to the official website of the Municipal Tourism Office here and receive the QR code.

Upon Arrival

Tourists are required to undergo a health assessment and document verification at the Tourist One-Stop Site. Guests must check-in and check-out from their accommodations using the QR-ID they’ve acquired.

Minimum public health standards like physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and wearing of face masks and face shields will be strictly implemented during the whole stay.
