Experience Serenity in the Calaguas Islands with Waling-Waling Eco Resort

Today, modernity necessitates a fast-paced lifestyle. People living in the metropolis have to rush from one building to another, endure crowds and seemingly never-ending lines while being barraged by noise everywhere.

Today, modernity necessitates a fast-paced lifestyle. People living in the metropolis have to rush from one building to another, endure crowds and seemingly never-ending lines while being barraged by noise everywhere. It isn’t a surprise that many of us desire a break from this lifestyle and to escape the hustle and bustle of metropolitan life.

Thankfully, the Calaguas Islands are a haven for both. Located in the province of Camarines Norte, around 300 kilometers from Metro Manila and a boat ride away from the mainland, the Calaguas Islands are slowly getting recognition for its gorgeous white beaches, pristine sea water and wondrous hiking trails. Some travel bugs will attest that despite being relatively unknown to the general public, the Calaguas Islands are among the best travel destinations in the country.

Waling-Waling Eco Village, the same company of the Waling-Waling Resort in Boracay, is the first resort situated within the Calaguas Islands. True to its name, Waling-Waling Eco Village provides comfortable accommodations to visitors while maintaining the culture and lifestyle of the province.

The Waling-Waling Eco Village, situated in Mahabang Buhangin beach of Calaguas Islands, has two accommodations which guests may choose from: the cabana and the kubol. The 14 cabana houses of Waling-Waling Eco Village can provide lodgings for 4 persons for only P3,500 a night. On the other hand, Waling-Waling’s 8 kubol houses has an open-air living room and private bathroom in the ground floor and in the second floor, a spacious sitting room that house sleep 6 persons for only P6,500 a night. Waling-Waling Eco-Village is also offering special lean season rates from October 15 to December 15. The cabana houses will only cost P2,800 a night, while the kubol houses will only cost P5,200 a night.

And rather than impose itself in Calaguas Islands, Waling-Waling Eco Village has wisely been constructed in such a way that it will not impede with the province’s lifestyle. All of the cabana and kubol houses are constructed using only natural materials. Also, the landscaping designs were created using the local plants and flora. These meticulous preparations were done to provide comfortable living accommodations to guests, and to preserve the natural aesthetic of the Calaguas Islands.

Tourism in the Philippines is a valuable endeavor; however caution and responsibility must be exercised. Otherwise, the scenery will be drastically affected and the local populace in distress. Thankfully, the Waling-Waling Eco Village is paving the way towards a more responsible and eco-friendly option; one that will allow the guests, the locals and the scenery to co-exist harmoniously.
