FIRST LOOK: PlayLab in Cebu, The First Digital Playground in the Country

We were lucky to have a first look at the newly-opened spot in Cebu, and here are all the attraction we loved - and you should be excited about!

As kids, we always imagined what it's like to experience a world that's just like the ones we see in sci-fi movies. Luckily, there's a new place where we could have these imaginations come to life!

Located at The Greens in Robinsons Galleria Cebu, PlayLab is the first digital playground in the country, featuring 14 attractions which would take the techy kids and kids at heart to a videogame-like world. Each attraction delivers a different kind of theme and thrill, so no matter what your interests are – playing music or even building volcanoes out of sand – there's something that you'd surely enjoy!

Ready to go on a PlayLab adventure? We were lucky to have a first look at the newly-opened spot in Cebu, and here are all the attractions we loved – and you should be excited about!

One of the things that you'd see before entering the playground is a screen which changes color by the slight touch of your hand! The Tap N' Glow even lets you create patterns and shapes on the screen, so don't forget to create your own light angel once you get the chance!

Another interactive piece in the playground is the Quantum Space which displays a colorful streak of lights and waves which changes as soon as you come in contact with it! While you're there, make sure you try running back and forth alongside the pattern to see what kind of effect you'll create. Take photos and Boomerangs because these patterns never come twice!

A music junkie? Make sure to stop by PlayLab's Music Wall where you get to create your own tune by – yep! – tapping your hands on any of the instruments on the wall! If you're into solving puzzles, you also test your skills on the Tangram where you put pieces together to form a rocket launch and even launch it to the wall ahead so you could watch it float along with the other rockets created!

PlayLab also made digging and building sandcastles even more fun in their Sand Box with the "special projector" they have which could identify your structure as a mountain, land, or sea depending on its height! There's also the Poppin' Pond where you get to enjoy and immerse in projected animations while sliding down the slope!

Save the Reef lets the kids learn about saving the reefs (and nature, in general) while they're still young! In this attraction, kids would be taken into a virtual reef where they would have to throw balls onto the garbages to make it disappear. Room Racers also gives the kids a different racing experience as instead of real RC cars, kids would be playing and controlling virtual cars projected on the floor! They would then have to race with each other and avoid the actual obstacles placed on it.

For those who want to unleash their artistic selves, there's the Butterfly Garden with a touchscreen art table which lets you design butterflies and watch it fly around the room. There's also the Live Forest where they get to color their spirit animals instead of butterflies and have it come to life in the room's virtual jungle!

Watch a virtual giraffe guess your height (and accurately, at that!) with the Growth Chart. The World of Zodiacs, on the other hand, will have you move and groove as your favorite zodiac character via an augmented reality mirror. Bring your friends and watch your characters change from time to time by simply jumping!

For the ones with a lot of energy to spend, Head Rush is a game they shouldn't miss. With the screen split into two, players would have to wear 3D glasses and dodge on all the barriers and obstacles to win the game. It might be a nice, fun game for the kids, but for the adults, it's already good enough to be your workout for the day!

Lastly, Light Brite is the attraction for those who just want something more chill after enjoying all the activities in the area. It's an oversized version of the same game where kids get to create shapes and patterns through the different colored pegs available.

Entrance to the digital playground is at P200 during weekdays and P250 on weekends (+P100 for every succeeding hour). which would let participants enjoy the complex for 2 hours. This is already enough to enjoy all the attractions, stay in your favorite station, and go through everything twice or maybe even thrice!

As it's definitely more fun to enjoy the playground with friends, PlayLab offers a 20% discount for those who are coming in groups of 40 and above!
