ClickTheCity Faves: What We’re Listening To This Week

Want to discover what we're listening to right now?

Whether you love listening to fine tunes while working or just want to put your mind off things for a bit, jamming to a track or learning new things through a podcast is just the way to go these days. While we work at home and try to give you the latest updates #AroundTheCityOnline, we stream songs and podcasts to stay calm, cool and collected.

Want to discover what we're listening to right now? Then keep tabs on this weekly rundown where we hand-pick some of our favorite songs and podcasts to share with the ClickTheCity community!

NOW That's What I Call Quarantine: Spotify Playlist by Chrissy Teigen

"That cheeky playlist title reeled me in — a nod to the famous compilation album series in the 80s and 90s. It's as equally cheeky as its creator, Chrissy Teigen, and if you follow her on Twitter then that's enough reason to listen to her quarantine playlist. You know it's going to be fun. This one's got a lot of 90s hits and guilty pleasure songs, some of them you haven't heard in a long time, and makes for perfect background music while you're home alone (which I currently am), so sing your heart out. Favorite track: I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys, of course."

Magical Thinking by Shallou

"Joe Boston who is best known as Shallou has been a part of my curated playlist for a while now, so I was pretty thrilled knowing he put out a new album. Just like his old releases, the new album features ambient, house melodies featuring soulful vocals in the Indie and Electronic music scenes. Each track is beautiful and has a magical appeal to it that is brought by the artists he has collaborated with. My favorite track on the album is a song called Silhouettes featuring Vancouver Sleep Clinic which pulls you in the moment the song starts. Listen to it and experience what happiness and magic feel like in four minutes!"

The Tablo Podcast

"I found myself catching up on all The Tablo Podcast episodes I've missed in the last couple of months. Hosted by Tablo, one of the MCs from the hip-hop group Epik High, it's nice to listen to him rant and rave about everything – his no-fail ramen recipe, his love of Marvel films, and his lack of knowledge on Star Wars (same, Tablo, same). There would also be times when he gets more serious and talks about things like sadness and anxiety and how he deals with it, something we could definitely listen to to help us get through these trying times."

The Savvy Psychologist podcast

“I like listening to the Savvy Psychologist podcast whenever I’m busy doing tedious tasks. It is very informative, yet it doesn’t require one’s complete focus because the host, Dr. Jade Wu, talks about psychology in an entertaining and conversational way. She talks about all kinds of topics, from serious mental illnesses to simple life hacks that listeners can incorporate in their daily lives.”
