Trese
The highly-anticipated animated series Trese has finally premiered on Netflix this June 11! The series is based on the comic book series of the same name and centers on the young Alexandra Trese, a detective who the cops call when it comes to cases involving the supernatural. Joining her in her cases are her masked protectors, the Kambal Crispin and Basilio. Liza Soberano leads the Filipino voice cast of the show, while Shay Mitchell voices the titular character for its English dub.

Isko Moreno as Andres Bonifacio
Manila mayor Isko Moreno is set to play Andres Bonifacio in an upcoming period film which is to be directed by Erik Matti. In a statement to CNN Philippines, Matti explained that the decision to cast the mayor because of all the parallels that he and Bonifacio share — from coming from Tondo and being theater actors to sharing their love for the City of Manila.
BTS’ Sowoozoo
In celebration of their 8th anniversary, BTS held an online concert last night called Sowoozo, which translates to Mikrokosmos, where they performed fan-favorite tracks over their 8-year career, as well as never-been-performed tracks from Map of the Soul: 7. The group will be holding another stage tonight, which is set to be a “World Tour” version as BTS’s way of saying that the fans are always with them.

American Idol star David Archuleta opened up about his sexuality as well as his struggles with religion in an Instagram post last Sunday, The 30-year-old actor said that him being a part f the LGBTQIA+ community shouldn’t interfere with his religion and his faith in God. “I think we can do better as people of faith and Christians, including Latter-day Saints, to listen more to the wrestle between LGBTQIA+ and a person of faith,” he said, “You can be part of the LGBTQIA+ community and still believe in God and His gospel plan.”
Lupin, Season 2
Another Netflix title that premiered on the streaming site last week is the second season of Lupin. The second season of the French series follows Assane right after the events of the first season, with him scrambling to find his son Raoul, and Hubert Pelligrini and his henchmen hunting him down. As he goes out for his revenge, his family is now in danger and he must start thinking of a new plan.
