The AD/HD Society of the Philippines Elects New Board of Trustees Members for 2021-2022

The AD/HD Society of the Philippines, founded in October 2000, is a non-profit organization composed of medical doctors, members of the academe, SPED practitioners, parents with children with ADHD and adults with ADHD.

The key missions of the society, among others is (1) To promote and advocate on behalf of individuals with ADHD influencing national and public policies; (2) To participate in and promote the latest developments regarding all aspects of ADHD ā€“ including all improvement and preventable studies, research, therapy, care and management and all concerns surrounding individuals with ADHD; (3) To promote the education and training of persons with ADHD and to foster the development of integrated care on their behalf.

The Society recently held its general assembly and elected new members to its Board of Trustees and officers for the 2021-2022 term. Elected President is Ana Marie Aluzan ā€“ Aran, a Marketing & PR Strategist, Editor-in-chief of food business website www.dineph.com, Managing Partner for Courage Asia and adjunct faculty of Enderun Colleges. She is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University and a mom to a 20 year old son diagnosed with ADHD Combined Type. Elected Treasurer is Bernadette Jeavian V. Tabares, a full-time homemaker, president of the Antipolo Chapter of Autism Society of the Philippines (ASP) and a strong advocate of children with special needs. She is mom to a 17 yr.old son with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a daughter who is deaf and another son with ADHD Inattentive Type.

Johanna Olegario ā€“ Gabano, elected PRO, is a full-time mom, as well as Finance & Administrative Head of their family-owned business, SAILE Industries. She is a graduate of University of the East and a mom to a 15 year old son diagnosed with ADHD Combined Type. Group Secretary is Andrew Dominic Pe. He is a Study coach at Project Pond, as well as tutor and life coach to high school and college students with ADHDand/or ASD. He had his Training Development and internship at St. Lukeā€™s Medical Center. He and his family has been one of the founding members of the Society. He is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and diagnosed with ADHD Combined type.

Last but not the least, Fiel John Meria, voted as Conference Chair. Mr. Meria is a Life Coach, a Study Coach and a Special Education Teacher for teens and adults diagnosed with ADHD. He has occupied various position in the Society, including Board Member and Vice-President. Mr. Meria graduated from Ateneo de Manila University and has been diagnosed with ADHD Combined Type.

Other Board of Trustees include Maria Rosalia Perena-Abaya (current Vice-President), Christine Sipalay Nobleza (Auditor), Manuel de Guzman and Joy Marinas.
