Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated film Tenet has finally premiered in cinemas globally! The film, which is the first major one to premiere during the pandemic, hit over $200 million globally, even despite the pandemic and the limited seating capacity in cinemas. Check out reviews for this new film on Rotten Tomatoes.
Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Martin Donovan, Fiona Dourif, and more. It premieres in Philippine cinemas soon.

Mela Habijan is Miss Trans Global
Manillennial star Mela Habijan is crowned Miss Trans Global during the virtual coronation held last September 12. She shared her thoughts about her big win on Facebook, saying that it was a childhood dream that came true. She also said that her victory is her “little way of honoring the life and dignity of Jennifer Laude and other trans Pinays ridiculed and oppressed by society.”
According to its official website, Miss Trans Global is an international online pageant for trans and gender-nonconforming people from all backgrounds. It aims to raise awareness on transgender and LGB issues around the world.
Don’t Worry, Darling
Harry Styles is making his return to the silver screen in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming thriller film Don’t Worry, Darling. He replaces Shia LaBeouf for the role after the latter had to leave the project because of a scheduling conflict.
Details about the film are still yet to be announced. However, we do know that it’s set in an isolated community in the 1950s desert. It centers on a housewife who uncovers a disturbing truth about her marriage.
Styles joins Florence Pugh, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Pine in this project.
Lav Diaz at the Venice Film Festival 2020
Lav Diaz has a new trophy in his bag! The director won the Orizzonti Award for Best Director at the Venice Film Festival 2020 for his film Lahi, Hayop (Genus Pan). Although Diaz wasn’t at Venice to receive the award personally, he did send a video message to thank La Biennale di Venezia.
Lahi, Hayop, which is directed, produced, written, and edited by Lav Diaz, stars Bart Guingoa, DMs Boongaling, Nanding Josef, Hazel Orencio, Joel Saracho, and Noel Sto. Domingo. It follows three illegal miners who traverse the sea, the mountains, and the forest until they reach their island.
‘Day of the Dead’ Barbies
Mattel has announced that they will be releasing a second collectible doll which is inspired by Dia De Muertos. This is after the successful run of the first edition Day of the Dead dolls released last year. The new doll honors the tradition, symbols, and rituals that are associated with this yearly tradition. These dolls are available on Barbie’s US website, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.
Dia De Muertos or Day of the Dead is a two-day holiday every November. During these days, families gather to celebrate the lives of their departed loved ones.
