It’s been months since we’ve been living in the “new normal” with most of us still working from home, still keeping our distance from each other, and still wondering when we’ll go back to our lives before.
In this special series, we feature different personalities in various industries to have a glimpse of how their lives are pre-pandemic, their current situation, and their outlook of the future.
We had a quick chat with Paolo Valenciano whose family name is well-known in the entertainment industry. Coming from a talented family, he made a name for himself through his love for music, theater, and acting. Paulo Valenciano now directs live events and concerts, or at least before the pandemic started.
I was very busy with work. We would do up to 7 shows in a month. Usually, we would have oculars in the morning and then creative meetings in the afternoon.
My mental state has improved in the last couple of weeks. But the first 2 months were intense. When the lockdowns were enforced, it made me question myself repeatedly. What is the purpose of a “live guy” in world that has made social distancing a new law? It was tough. But now, we are slowly adapting to the new landscape. It just feels like learning to walk again.
Hopes for the Future:
I still believe that nothing beats a LIVE experience. So many of my colleagues have adapted really well to the new normal and I’m very happy for them. But my heart will always be where the crowds are. I can’t wait to bounce back!
