Hear James McAvoy Voice Morpheus for Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Sandman’ Audio Series

Neil Gaiman will be narrating!

Neil Gaiman’s iconic graphic novel series The Sandman is getting an audio series adaptation for Audible, and actor James McAvoy will be playing the role of Morpheus!

DC and Audible have teamed up to bring The Sandman to life through these audio series that is narrated by Neil Gaiman himself; with characters voiced by Michael Sheen, Taron Egerton, Andy Serkis, Riz Ahmed, Kat Dennings, and Bebe Neuwirth alongside McAvoy. It is directed by Dirk Maggs.

The Sandman follows Morpheus the Dream King, and the effects he brings to people and places. Gaiman sums up the story with this brief sentence: “The Lord of Dreams learns that one must change or die, and makes his choice.”

Audible will release its first installment on July 15. This will cover the first three volumes of the graphic novels.


Just last year, DC also announced the coming of a live-action adaptation of The Sandman to be released on Netflix.
