Frankie Pangilinan fires back at Ben Tulfo in a Twitter spat last Saturday after Tulfo instructs ladies to be careful with the way they dress so as to not invite the beasts a.k.a. the rapists. Pangilinan then quote Tulfo, and basically schooled him about how one’s clothing should never be “deemed as ‘opportunity’ to sexually assault anyone. It’s not too long after that #HijaAko trended on Twitter, with people coming forward to share their own stories to prove that a woman’s clothing is not and should never be the reason for someone to sexually assault them.
BTS’ 7th Anniversary and Bang Bang Con The Live
This year’s Festa culminated with the celebration of BTS’ 7th year since debut! In true BTS fashion, the group released a 55-minute video where the members prepare a small birthday party for and by themselves, and share their stories throughout the years they’ve been together as a group. BTS also held a special online concert called Bang Bang Con The Live, where they performed their well-loved songs and sub-unit tracks.

The Cruz Cousins – Sheryl, Geneva, Sunshine, and Donna – reunite once again for a virtual performance of The Corrs’ “Breathless”. Joining them for the collaboration are Mark Flores, Keisy Hicban, and Krister Castro. Earlier this month, Geneva, Sunshine, and Donna also covered “You’re In Love”, which was then uploaded on Geneva’s Instagram page. Sheryl also reunited with her That’s Entertainment co-stars with a cover of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”.

While still fighting for their franchise renewal, ABS-CBN has announced the return of its shows through the Kapamilya Channel, which are now available on cable and satellite TV nationwide. Filipinos can now watch their favorite Kapamilya shows on SKY, Cablelink, G Sat, and other cable operators.

A Thousand Cuts Free Streaming
Ramona Diaz’s documentary A Thousand Cuts streamed for free on Independence Day last week. Available for 24 hours only, the film centers on Rappler’s Maria Ressa, as well as writers and editors from different news organizations, who discuss the state and the struggles of the free press under President Duterte’s regime. The film gained over 200,000 views in 24 hours.
