Christmas 2019: Lights and Sounds Attractions in Manila Worth Checking Out

Still looking where you should take the whole family in the coming days? We round up some of the attractions you can check out in the city during the holidays!

We're now counting down the days until Christmas day and aside from taking advantage of the ongoing sales and promos in your favorite stores, another way to ring in the holidays is by checking out various attractions in the metro with your loved ones! 

So if you need a rundown on where to take your friends and families after work or during the weekends, fret not as we give you a list of attractions you can check out: 

1. Ayala Triangle Gardens' Gallery of Lights
When: until January 12, 2020 
Where: Ayala Triangle Gardens

This year's Gallery of Lights will be featuring 3 medleys of different themes: Techno, Big Band, and Filipino, featuring the concepts of lighting director Voltaire de Jesus and Luther Garmia. A new addition to the yearly spectacle is Carol of Lights, which uses 3D video mapping to project immersive images inspired by churches' ceilings on the doom of Tower One and Exchange Plaza.  This is made possible by Epson Philippines. 

2. Tiendesitas' Gift of Wonders
When: until January 5, 2020
Where: Food and Pet Village, Tiendesitas

From November 4 to January 5, 2020, people can visit Tiendesitas' Gift of Wonders, an interactive installation that aims to remind people of all there is to love about Christmas. House of Stars encapsulates the warmth of a Filipino Christmas, while Pets Unleashed is an animated installation highlighting the grandness of the world through the eyes of animals. 

3. Ortigas East Christmas Street Musical Light Tunnel
When: until January 5, 2020
Where: Ortigas East Estate, Pasig

Illuminating the stretch of Ortigas East estate in Pasig, the Christmas Street Musical Light Tunnel is a spectacle featuring a light display twinkling along to the sound of well-loved Christmas songs. The attraction will be running until January 5 next year. 

4. Araneta City's Christmas Animated Display
When: until January 5, 2020
Where: Araneta City Times Square Food Park

This year's Christmas Animated Display at Araneta City will be featuring stories on 5 of Christmas' most important symbolisms, as well as the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The display gives life to animated characters, moving along with the bright lights and to the tune of well-loved Christmas tunes. The CAD will run until January 5 next year.  

5. Greenhills Christmas Spectacle
When: until January 5, 2020
Where: Night Market at G-Strip, Greenhills

Running from November 15, 2019 to January 5, 2020, Greenhills Shopping Center has launched its Greenhills Laser Light Symphony, an attraction where people can watch a show of laser lights moving in the tune of Christmas tunes.

6. Mall of Asia Grand Festival of Lights Parade
When: every Saturday until December 25
Where: North and South Arcades, Mall of Asia

SM Mall of Asia has different installations and events lined up this season. The Grand Festival of Lights Parade will be happening every Saturday at 5:30PM until Christmas Day. They also have an Indoor Music and Lights Show and a drone show at SM By the Bay, and Christmas Forest of Lights Show at the Central Park.  

7. Filinvest City's Christmas Village
When: until December 31
Where: Water Garden, Festival Mall

Down south, Festival Mall also has something in store for its shoppers. From November 15 to December 31, the mall's Water Garden will be holding a Lights Show daily, Saturday live performances, and Sunday's with Santa Claus as their way of spreading the holiday cheer to the mallgoers. 

 8. Nuvali's teamLab Water: Interactive Water Show
When: from November 22 (Fridays to Sundays, 6PM to 9PM)
Where: Globe Lakeside, Nuvali

From the same team that gave us Borderless in Tokyo comes a water show that aims to bring a digital art experience to the people who will be spending their holiday weekends at Nuvali. teamLab Water will be featuring 4 unique experiences that will be tying up together art, science, technology, design, and the natural world. The show happens every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 6PM to 9PM at the Globe Lakeside of Nuvali.
