A story of a woman who literally reached for the stars. Through fast-paced dialogue laced with humor, and five unique characters, Lauren Gunderson tells the story of Henrietta Levitt whose pioneering work in the early 1920's was responsible for the discovery of the existence of galaxies' other than our own.

It is a story of quiet determination and patience, of family bonding, friendship and of love. It is a tribute to women who search for recognition in a traditionally man's world, Henrietta leaves her small town and her family to pursue her passion for astronomy at Harvard University's observatory only to discover that being in a woman stands in her way.
