Edgar Samar's Si Janus Silang at ang Labanang Manananggal – Mambabarang

September 20-23; 26-30 (Black Box Theater, Ateneo De Manila University)

Si Janus Silang at ang Labanang Mananaggal-Mambabarang follows the titular character, Janus Silang, as he continues his search for Tala to defeat the threat of the Tiyanak to humanity. 

The playdates of Si Janus Silang at ang Labanang Manananggal-Mambabarang are September 20-23, 26-30, October 3-7, 10-14, and 17-21. Performances start at 7:30PM while Saturday matinee shows start at 2:30PM. Performance venue is the Ateneo de Manila’s Black Box Theater at the university’s Fine Arts Annex Building.

Cine Europa 2017

September 17-26 (Shang Cineplex, Cinema 2, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City)

The Cine Europa fever is now back, the longest and widest film festival in the country opens in Manila on 16 September 2017 at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong City with the perfect fusion of the best of classical and contemporary films from the European Union. 

After its edition in Shangri-La Plaza, Cine Europa takes a road trip to the cities of Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban, Baybay, Puerto Princesa and back to Manila. For the first time, Cine Europa is travelling to Ateneo de Naga University.

Admission is free. 

 

Short+Sweet Theatre

In the age of instant messaging and fast food, 10 minutes onstage is enough to let you know whether or not you’ve got some magic in your material and talent in your veins.

Presented by OilLamp Inc., Short+Sweet Theatre Manila aims to be an avenue for local and international artists to present their bodies of work, while utilizing the actors and crew that Manila is already well known for. By working hand in hand, the festival becomes place for these people to come together and build a more creative world 10 minutes at a time.

Poème: A Musical Journey

Young Europe-trained Filipino classical violinist Joaquin Maria "Chino" Gutierrez will stage a special anniversary concert, titled "Poème: A Musical Journey", at the Francisco Santiago Concert Hall in Makati. This is in celebration of his 20 years as a violinist.

Posporo(s) in Manila

September 23, 9PM (Punta Mandala, Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City)

Posporo(s) sets local music enthusiasts on fire on September 23 when Spanish and Filipino artists share the stage again in this series of concerts organized by the Embassy of Spain and the Instituto Cervantes de Manila with the support of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), a project aimed at showcasing indie music talents from both countries to give the two sides an opportunity to experience each other's music.

This concert takes place at Punta Mandala, a live music venue which opened on October 18, 2008 run by Paolo Bediones, the famous Filipino television host, newscaster, and radio commentator. A haven for food and music lovers that is also used a set for Paolo´s latest show.

His lack of attachment to any belief can be used to make him unleash callous words to anyone who comments against the martial law days.
