The cast of West End's The Sound of Music is currently playing in Manila as part of their international tour, and it's a perfect way to go back and relive "a few of our favorite things" from our childhood!

The cast of West End's The Sound of Music is currently playing in Manila as part of their international tour, and it's a perfect way to go back and relive "a few of our favorite things" from our childhood! The show will be running from September 27 to October 22, 2017 at The Theatre at Solaire. 

See a snippet of the musical's classic number, Do-Re-Mi, which features Maria and the Von Trapp kids:

The Sound of Music is based from the true story of the Von Trapp singers, telling the story of Maria Rainer, a postulant who is given the task to take care of seven motherless children. During the course of her stay with the Von Trapp children, she gradually wins the hearts of the children and their father, Captain Von Trapp.

The musical is led by South African actress Carmen Pretorius who plays Maria, joined by Nicholas Maude (Captain Von Trapp), Zoe Beavon (Liesl Von Trapp), and a group of Filipino kids who underwent auditions and rehearsals to give life to the 6 other Von Trapp children.

The musical features the music of Richard Rogers, with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. Some of the classic songs that came out from the production are "Do Re Mi," "My Favorite Things", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", and "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." The original Broadway production also won 6 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
