Based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, Cats tells the story of the Jellicle cats gathering at the Jellicle Ball where their leader Old Deuteronomy chooses which of these cats go up to the "Heaviside Layer" or their version of heaven, and be reborn unto a whole new Jellicle life.
Cats is one of the longest-running shows in West End and on Broadway. It has received numerous awards including the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Musical, seven Tony awards including Best Musical. Both the original London and Broadway cast recordings also won Grammy Awards for Best Cast Album.
The international tour of the Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Theatre production of CATS is presented by David Ian Productions, with the RCBC Bankard as a proud sponsor of the 2019 Manila season of CATS.
